Nutmeat (Lyrics)

This is my favorite song off the record. I think it is the heaviest and most intense not only for the music but for the lyrical content, which in fact has nothing to do with testicles. It is about The Buddhas of Bamyan that were two monumental statues of standing buddhas carved into the side of a cliff in the Bamyan valley in the Hazarajat region of central Afghanistan in the sixth century. The statues were destroyed by the Taliban in 2001 after their government declared that they were “idols” (which is forbidden by Islamic religious law).

Destroying art for religion, painful to witness… like having electrodes on your nutmeat. Sure the title of the song could have been changed. It was originally just a working title because it was unfinished, but I think the fact that people write it off before reading the lyrics and finding out what it is all about, sort of fits.
